After the terror attack in Pahalgam, several Bollywood celebrities have cancelled or postponed events in solidarity. Aamir Khan, who was supposed to attend the special screening of Andaz Apna Apna, skipped the event. Khan's 1994 comedy film has been re-released in theatres today, April 25.
Talking about his decision to postpone it, Khan said that the incident took an emotional toll on him and he was in no state to go to the preview. "I was reading reports about what happened at Pahalgam in Kashmir. I have been badly affected by the senseless killing of innocents. I was in no state to go (to the preview). I will see it sometime later this week," he said to a journalist.
Earlier in the week, several Indian celebrities took to social media to condemn the attack. Prominent stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and more demanded justice.
About the Pahalgam Attack
The Pahalgam attack is one of the deadliest attacks in the Jammu and Kashmir region in recent times. On April 22, terrorists opened fire on tourists at Baisaran Valley, killing at least 26 people. Assailants descended from nearby hills and unleashed gunfire on unsuspecting civilians. The casualties also included two foreign nationals and two local residents.

Meanwhile, talking of Andaz Apna Apna, the Rajkumar Santoshi film stars Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor and more. The film did not perform well at the box office when it was released but went on to attain cult status over time. Talking about the same, Aamir Khan said, "Raj Santoshi and I were the only two people who believed in the film. We loved it. So, when it didn’t work, we were both sad. And then it goes on to become my biggest success on home entertainment!!! Both Raj and I were finally redeemed.
