This statement comes amid growing calls for boycott of Fawad's film Abir Gulaal. It also stars Vaani Kapoor alongside him, and this romantic drama was supposed to mark his comeback to Indian cinema after 9 years. Following the recent attack, netizens are vehemently opposing the release of the film in Indian theatres.

Ashoke Pandit, the President of the Indian Film & Television Directors' Association, opposed the release of the film and said, "This incident is an act of war against the nation. We, as a federation, have requested with folded hands to not work with Pakistanis. They come up with bulls***t reasons like artiste, community, but ultimately, the nation must come first. We will issue an order that anyone who works with Pakistani artistes will be boycotted by the industry."
