The much-awaited trailer of Vishnu Manch’s upcoming film Kannappa was unveiled on Saturday — offering a glimpse into its world and setting. The trailer looks promising and can be described as a blend action, deep devotional connection to the Vayu Lingam (enshrined at the Sri Kalahasteeswara Temple in Srikalahasti).
Atheist warrior turns devotee

The trailer starts off with Manchu Vishnu (as Tinnadu), a tribal warrior and an atheist who mocks his niece girlfriend Preity Mukhundhan for worshipping Lord Shiva (Akshay Kumar). Goddess Parvati (Kajal Aggarwal) wonders how such a nonbeliever could ever become Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee. The Lord merely smiles…setting the stage for the entry of godman Rudra (Prabhas). His arrival in Tinnadu’s life triggers a spiritual awakening, eventually turning him into a devotee of Kannappa. The film revolves around Tinnadu’s transformation from being an atheist warrior to a devotee Kanappa and his connection to the Lord and the temple.

Prabhas as Rudra
One of the major highlights of the trailer was Prabhas’ role as Rudra. His look as a divine guardian…with long hair and holy ash on his forehead are appealing. His dialogues indicate that he plays a Godman sent by Lord Siva (played by Akshay Kumar). Although Prabhas plays a cameo, his role may have a significant impact on the narrative. “Antha Sivaleela,” dialogue sums up that there’s more to him than what meets the eye. The trailer showcases intense action sequences that indicate grand visuals and rich production values. As it progresses, the emotional conflict of the plot unfolds. The scenes involving Prabhas and Vishnu Manchu are promising and have further elevated the expectations on the film. Directed by Mukesh Kumar, Kannappa’s neatly cut trailer helps in elevating and further spreading the buzz. Glimpses of Mohanlal and Mohan Babu add star power to the film, which is slated to release on June 27, 2025.
