Sooraj Barjatya recently sat for a chat with Filmfare, where he discussed his past projects, recent series titled Sangamarmar and more. When we asked him about the viral track Kasam Ki Kasam from one of his previous films, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, Sooraj shared about the several clashes during the making of the film. He revealed that different opinions from people on the set ultimately left Kareena Kapoor Khan "exhausted."

Sooraj shared, "There is a big story behind it. When we were shooting this at the Mehboob Studios, my father (Raj Kumar Barjatya) wanted her to have happy expressions while singing. He just felt that it would be better and work perfectly. His thought was that the song is good, so it should turn happy. I said, the girl cannot be happy. It has to be sung sad." Barjatya noted how the makers were in two minds about how the song should be approached.
While the father-son duo could not come up with a solution, the song's composer Anu Malik was called in. "Anu ji said, 'She has to cry, whether my song is a hit or not.'" revealed Sooraj. "Anu ji fought for the song. He wanted to have sad expressions," he added.
