Janhvi Kapoor’s fan clubs have shared screenshots of alleged conversations with the actress amid the controversy surrounding her recently released film, Peddi. The film has faced criticism over its portrayal of women, with many viewers calling out the alleged oversexualisation of Janhvi’s character through certain camera angles and scenes. The screenshots surfaced around the same time director Buchi Babu Sana apologised for the backlash.
According to the leaked chats, Janhvi had reportedly objected to certain camera angles during filming, with her co-star Ram Charan allegedly supporting her concerns. In one of the screenshots, the actress is seen claiming that she refused to do “waist and boob shots.” She also reportedly referred to Ram Charan as “sweet” for backing her objections.
The screenshots further suggest that concerns regarding the portrayal of Janhvi’s character were raised internally during the shoot itself. In another part of the alleged conversation, Janhvi was asked about comparisons being drawn between her role in Peddi and Kiara Advani’s portrayal in Game Changer. Responding to this, she reportedly said that her shots were “worse.” One of the chats also allegedly features the actress writing, “No more film. We are done.”

However, the authenticity of these chats has not been verified yet, and there is no confirmation that the conversations are actually with Janhvi Kapoor. The actress has not issued any official statement on the matter so far.
A couple of days ago, netizens noticed that Janhvi had liked a post on Instagram stating how Peddi is the most expensive disrespect ever paid to a leading woman in Indian cinema. While she seemed to have unliked the post later, screenshots showing her interaction with it have gone viral on social media.
