Filmfare's Review of Toxic

Filmfare gave Toxic 2 out of 5 stars and wrote, "But the film's biggest weakness is its narrative spine. Characters appear and disappear, motivations are sometimes sketchy, and the screenplay jumps between violence, sex, family drama and spectacle without always giving the emotional moments enough room to breathe. At three hours plus, this becomes tiring. The first half, especially, can feel like an endurance test when it should be pulling us deeper into Raya's world.

Yash, however, remains the film's strongest constant. As Raya, he is commanding, physical and completely comfortable with the larger-than-life gangster persona. There is a sense of familiarity to the performance, though, as if we have seen variations of this powerful, brooding Yash before."
